InSpire Management
Dr. Willums created together with the two founders of the Norwegian solar company REC, Alf Bjørseth and Reidar Langmo, and the IT founder Jarle Frøshaug, the investment management company InSpire Management at the beginning of this century in order to respond to international investors wanting to co-invest in the activities of the partners.
The company, chaired by Alf Bjørseth and managed by Jan-Olaf Willums served as manager of the two first co-investment vehicles, Inspire AS and Scatec (until their value distribution in 2004 and 2006 respectively).
In order to meet the requirements of international investors, InSpire Management developed a highly successful co-investment model for its own partners and some key international investors (Good Energy and Andromeda Fund) which gave very high returns for the co-investment in the early stage projects Scatec AS and Inspire AS invested in, notably in the REC case.
InSpire Management continues today to be special advisor and co-investor partner for international funds in the %u201CCleantech%u201D area.
